5 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS FASTER

Welcome to my blog!!

Wondering why things seem not to happen for you? why you seem not to be moving forward as your mates do? This could be as a result of lack of one of the list below. Check this out!

1) Understand what a goal really is.

If you’re someone who sets goals, but then never does anything, you might be misunderstanding the term. A goal is not something you write down and then set aside for the next 6 months wondering why nothing changes. That’s your “honey do” list.
A goal is an interactive statement of intent designed for both your pleasure and growth. It’s something you want to do, be or have which you’re totally passion about. (Notice I didn’t say “designed to bring you pain?” Goal setting is not about creating massive amounts of struggle, stress and strain. It’s about unleashing the giant within, as Tony Robbins put it.)

2) Choose a goal that you truly want.

This one sounds kind of ridiculous but when you unravel it, you’ll see what I mean. Lots of people set goals they think they should, as opposed to goals they want. Choosing goals you want requires an inward focus and being honest with yourself. How many times have you done something just to please others?
I know people who’ve spent most of their adult life making decisions and choices to please others—career, life partner, clothing choices, where they live, what school they attend and even what they eat—all based on pleasing others. Things done just to please others aren’t goals. It’s just stuff you’re doing because you don’t feel okay about doing what pleases you. The thought of being judged is too great so you just do what’s easier—what your told.
A goal is designed by you for you to increase your personal growth. My definition of the word goal says nothing about making sure you please your parents or best friend.

3) Increase your awareness.

Increasing awareness of self, finances, relationships, health and happiness is easy. You just have to pay attention. I know, I know … with so much do to and so little time it’s harder than ever to stay focused on one thing for more than 6 seconds (which is the length of vine videos).
But here’s the deal. If you’ve gone to the trouble of setting a proper goal for yourself, then you might as well start to increase your awareness of such things as how you feel about it or if you’re seeing any results. And if you’re not seeing any results, find out why and making the proper adjustments.
Let’s apply this idea to money. Let’s say “Judy” has a goal is to earn $100,000 a year within two years. She currently makes about $14,000 with her home based consulting business. She’s been at this for 2 years now and is not reaching her goal.
How do we apply awareness to this goal? Let’s look at some specifics that apply to Judy.
Judy loves what she does. She is very good at it, too. But when it comes to money Judy doesn’t really pay much attention. She’s got some money coming in every month but she doesn’t keep up with the accounting. She says it gives her a stomach ache. Judy doesn’t realize that in order to reach her goal, she’s going to have to become more aware of what’s happening with her money flow. How might she do that? Do her accounting every couple of days instead of every few months.
Judy knows this though. Her accountant tells her this every time they meet and she just read the same thing in Success Magazine last month. Her best friend, who’s a financial planner, gave her the same advice yesterday.
Another way to Judy can apply this tip is to pay attention (i.e. become more aware) of how she really feels about money, and her professional level of success, in order to uncover any negative thoughts that have her stuck in a behavior pattern of NOT acting on the sound advice.
There are so many ways we can apply awareness, both to external and internal processes. If there’s one thing I can promise you, it’s that becoming more aware of what’s happening with you inside and out, will decrease the time you spend “trying” to achieve your goals and increase the time you spend realizing them.
That’s not my opinion, it’s physics. Attention to something makes it bigger. What we focus attention on, either mental, emotional or physical, enlarges.

4) Understand that the “fastest” path to your goal achievement may not always be the straightest one.

This one is going to sound crazy if you follow traditional goal setting and achieving advice. This information is not the same old information recycled though, it’s the most leading-edge information I can find which by definition makes it a bit edgy.
I remember seeing a chart once that represented the path between a person and her goal as straight up. The arrow started in the lower left corner of the chart and went in a straight line diagonally extending to the right upper corner.
I thought, Yes! I want that! I want to go straight to the top, no turns, no detours, no extra crap … straight to the top! Then I had another thought, Once I get what I want then I’ll finally be happy!

I also remember thinking, But … that’s not honestly how it works in reality. No one goes straight to the top without any challenges. That diagram is totally unrealistic. Why is success/goal achievement being represented like that?
Probably because we’ve misunderstand how to get from where we are to where we want to be, until now, 2015. I’ve never met a person that experiences the straight-to-the-top, achieve the goal without any challenges experience. A road worth traveling has bumps in it. The real path to goal achievement looks oddly like a pre-school doodle drawing with lines going every which way, back and forth, crossing over each others several times. The real path to success is paved with swirly lines and eraser marks.
Not only is the swirly line with eraser marks the fastest way to the goal, it’s the most fun. Encountering challenges along the way that take unforeseen directions is fun. We humans think we want to have it all now. We think we want to go “straight” to the top and never experience contrast, but we don’t.
Do you really want to eat all the pizzas you’re ever going to have today? Do you truly want to get all the hugs and kisses you’re ever going to get right now? Do you really want to have a lifetime of orgasms by nightfall? Or do you want to “loop” back around sometimes so you can experience these things from a new, enlightened perspective, enjoying them as they unfold in each new moment.
No, my dear friends, heading straight to the top is not the fastest way to the goal. It’s typically just the path that’s more stressful, as we strain, struggle and force things to happen. The “I need it to happen now” path often takes much longer because it’s full of resistance.
The fastest way to your goal is to find the path, the daily moment-by-moment choices that are most exciting. If you’re having fun, time collapses and becomes a non-issue. If you’ve ever done an activity where you’re having so much fun you totally lose track of time, don’t feel hungry or have to pee, and cool ideas spill forth easily, then you’ve already experienced the fastest path to your goal: following your highest level of excitement.

5) Relax and have more fun.

I know you’ve heard this one. But do you practice it? Or do you stress out when things don’t seem like they’re happening fast enough, or at all.
Think about it this way. You know how when you fall into quicksand if you want to live through it you need to stop struggling? (Take a moment to see that in your mind: you in quicksand. You are you, quicksand is your goal. STOP STRUGGLING.) Goal setting and achieving is the same thing. Believe it or not, things happen faster and with greater accuracy when we relax and allow.
Trust me. I know it’s challenging to relax when you desperately want to see some evidence. I’m human, too. It takes daily practice to relax when you’ve been programmed to believe that if you don’t see results, nothing’s happening.
But honestly, chill’n out a bit is really how quantum success works.
You know the saying, Seeing is believing? That’s not really in the right order. The truth is, Believing is seeing. When you relax into the belief that you will realize your goal, you open the energy flow to achieve your goal faster.

Your mission for today, dear Reader (should you choose to accept it) is to make sure your goals fits the definition above. If they do, you will automatically feel a sense of excitement about the goal. Passion is the best fuel to create fast, forward momentum. Once you’ve got some momentum, have increased your awareness a pinch and are having a bit more fun in the process of your goal realization, you’ll be the first to witness how it doesn’t take “as long” for you to go from where you are to where you want to be.
Post Script: You probably noticed that I didn’t mention taking action? I did that intentionally. The first, and more important part of goal achievement, happens before you take one single action. Action is not our problem as goal setting and achieving beings. We take lots and lots of action. Ever noticed how some people are doing “lots of stuff, taking lots of action” but nothing ever really changes? Me, too. This is precisely why I started with this list of 5 things you can do today to “go faster”.
