Excuse is a killer.
There is a part of every man that wants to attribute his/her failure to
fate,circumstances, people, family or environment. Accomplishing success in
life, work and relationship requires an understanding on how o stop making
excuses. Building a self-disciplined life is all about putting an end to your
excuses. If you are serious about making it in life, if you want to be
successful in life, you must give up the habit of making excuses. Some excuses
are very reasonable and acceptable, but they are the reason for most of our
failures. To be honest some excuse are beyond our control, but we must always
find a way around it. Most of us focus on what we do not have, instead of what
we have. We must take responsibility of every step we take or we do not take.
We feel good shifting the blame on people. In the long run, constantly blaming
people will make you weak and lazy. To achieve in life, master your weakness,
identify ways to overcome them and move on to achieve you goals.
HOW TO AVOID MAKING
EXCUSES
If you are not achieving
the result you want in life; it is time to put an end to your excuses.
These are some of the
ways to help you avoid excuses.
1. Have a Task List
Having a task list make you know what to do per time. If you do
not have a task list for the day, you will use most of you time to do the
things that are not really important because they will be more appealing
to your sense. Then when you want to do the important one, then the time will be
against you. You can give yourself a tip for completing each task on your list.
2.
Take Responsibility
This is the foundation of your success. The more responsible you
are for yourself, the higher you will achieve you goals. Focus on the right
things you can control, you will find it very easy to avoid making excuses when
things go wrong. Accept responsibility for the things you do and the things you
fail to do. When events outside of your control occur, avoid making excuses and
identify things you can change to get a better result. When you accept responsibilities
you take control of your life, but when you make excuses, you lose your winning
power.
3.
Make a list of you popular excuses
Make a list of the excuses you make, consider why you make them,
and decide which one you want to work on stopping first.
If you make excuses about your performance at work, check your
work flow process.
Write down your life goals and write the excuse that are making
you not to achieve them, then try to solve these excuses. Remember nothing changes until
you do.
